Training
White Collar Canine recognizes that the foundation of any successful unit is in the quality, depth and real world of training. White Collar Canine founder, Gary Godlewski, with over 35 years of experience was the K-9 Coordinator for the Oakland Police K-9 Academy from 1998 to 2011.
Tom Stevenson served as Master Trainer for the Oakland Police Academy from 2001 to 2014. Executive board members and master trainers to N.A.P.C.H., Gary and Tom have trained and certified K-9 teams from across the U.S. at national seminars and local workshops. Tom and Gary have attended advanced K-9 explosives training in the Netherlands from K-9 ASG, a leading European K-9 explosives detection company.
Tom and Gary, along with White Collar Canine’s other trainers and master trainers, take great pride in the training of White Collar Canine’s explosives K-9 teams, which is all done “in-house”. All teams obtain national certification status prior to any deployments. A majority of training is conducted at White Collar Canine’s 38,000 square foot Brighton training facility.
A further commitment to training is White Collar Canine’s Federal ATF license, allowing them to possess “live” explosives, and secure the same in their federally approved explosives bunker.
